My Sleeve Has A Main!

 So many ends!!

I'm finishing off my Misty Gardens (a lovely design I'm test knitting for Fortuknit on Rav), and am pondering stranded sleeves.

Most often I just knot the color changes- I know, knots! But I've heard Shetlanders knot their color changes, and the yarns do felt slightly with wear, so I think it's alright in this instance. However, it is not elegant.

Fuzzy photo (no flash) but you can really see the main!!

I've tried Russian Joins, and spit splicing, but both of these result in a thick spot along the "seam" where there are double strands of yarn.

I don't have the energy or drive to weave all these ends, and besides, that would cause the same thick spot.

So for now, I'll stick with knotting, I guess. On this sweater, I knotted as I went along, which has drastically reduced the finishing time. I'll have to see, after blocking, if the tension there is alright or not- I'm afraid it will be a bit loose.

I'll have to look through my books and see if anyone has any other ideas!
